- Act as Lead AMHP for MHA?1983 assessments, ensuring legal compliance and the highest professional standards.
- Provide clinical leadership, mentoring and supervision to AMHP colleagues and wider MDT staff.
- Contribute to the 24/7 rota (including evenings and weekends) for urgent MHA assessments.
- Maintain accurate records on Mosaic and produce clear, timely statutory reports.
- Liaise with health partners, police, legal services and Approved Clinicians to coordinate safe, person-centred outcomes.
- Promote awareness of the power dynamics and potential discrimination within MHA practice; drive continuous service improvement.
- Qualified Social Worker / Nurse / OT or Psychologist with current professional registration.
- Approved Mental Health Professional status with a minimum of three years’ post-qualification AMHP experience.
- In-depth knowledge of the MHA?1983/2007, MCA?2005, Human Rights Act and related case law.
- Familiarity with Mosaic (or similar case-management system) desirable.
- Ability to work autonomously, manage complex risk and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential).
