Senior Social Worker - Walsall Council

Salary: £33.30 per hour

As a Senior Social Worker, you will play a crucial role in protecting vulnerable children and families. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting initial assessments to screen and assess the needs of children and families referred to the service.
  • Undertaking child protection work, including risk assessments and the development of safety plans for children at risk.
  • Responding to urgent cases and managing crisis situations as the first point of contact within the duty system.
  • Managing a varied caseload, developing comprehensive care plans, and conducting regular case reviews.
  • Collaborating effectively with professionals from health, education, and other agencies to provide holistic support to families.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records and preparing reports as required.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Social Work qualification (Degree/DipSW)
  • Social Work England registration
  • Significant post-qualifying experience working within a children's services setting
  • Experience in undertaking assessments and managing complex cases
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
