SEN Teaching Assistant

Key Responsibilities:

SEN Teachers:
- Deliver tailored lessons to meet the individual needs of students with SEN.
- Work closely with other professionals to create personalized learning plans.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting teaching strategies as necessary.
- Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment.
- Support students' emotional, social, and academic development.
SEN Teaching Assistants:
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEN.
- Assist with implementing tailored lesson plans and adapting activities to suit individual needs.
- Support students during classroom and extracurricular activities.
- Help with personal care and mobility support where necessary.
- Promote positive behavior and emotional well-being of students.

Key Requirements:

Previous experience working with children with special educational needs is desirable.
For SEN Teachers, a teaching qualification (PGCE or equivalent) is required, with additional SEN training being a bonus.
For Teaching Assistants, a relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning) is desirable, but not essential.
A positive, patient, and proactive attitude.
The ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and other professionals.
A commitment to ensuring every student has access to the best possible education.
