Summary:

The Commercial and Technical Estimator is responsible for executing the commercial price calculations for new RFQ's and current assemblies. They will review, interpret, and calculate pricing against customer BoM and schematic information to allow the creation of a commercial sales proposal. The Commercial and Technical Estimator is also responsible for maintaining a database of suppliers and brands, categories, and product types for inclusion on requests for quotation (RFQ). Estimators are required to hold an in-depth understanding of our production processes and a willingness to get involved in SQCPD continuous improvement projects and processes, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.

Key Responsibilities of the Commercial and Technical Estimator

You will receive Bills of Materials (BOM) form potential customers and then put together the Quotations based on Materials, Labour etc.

You will need previous knowledge of Electrical Estimating

Skills/Knowledge/Competencies:

Essential

  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills
  • Excellent competency levels in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Demonstratable Commercial Estimating experience within an Electrical Manufacturing environment.
  • Fully competent in creating and/or interpreting detailed customer BoM's.
  • Fully competent in understanding electrical schematics.
  • Ability to manage multiple tenders, of varying complexity levels, and at various maturity stages.

Desirable

  • Product knowledge in Electrical Control Cabinets and/or Electro-mechanical assemblies.
  • Competency in Microsoft Sharepoint.

Qualifications/Experience

  • Can demonstrate a proven track record of processing and managing a large volume of commercial tender requests, on time and to budget of the same (or larger size) than PP and explain, in detail, how during their tenure they improved the operational performance in relation to:
  • QCD metrics
  • Company profitability
  • People (training, development, culture, successor planning etc.)
  • Methods of employee engagement
  • Proficient in Maths & English, minimum GCSE, or equivalent level.

0800-1715 Monday to Thursday
