Vocational Coach in Carpentry and Joinery

Join our team at Reed Further Education and contribute to shaping the future of students in Carpentry and Joinery. We are looking for a dedicated Vocational Coach to provide exceptional coaching and support, unlocking students' potential and preparing them for their future careers.

Location: WalsallJob Type: Temporary (Immediate start until 11th April 2025)Rate of Pay: £25-£30 per hour

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Coach students to develop their knowledge, skills, and behaviours, maximising their performance and helping them achieve their aspirations.
  • Monitor student progress and performance, providing tailored support that prepares them thoroughly for assessments.
  • Promote student welfare, personal, and social development.
  • Implement effective curriculum strategies, preparing schemes of work, lesson, and assessment plans that reflect employer requirements and progression aspirations.
  • Deliver inspiring training that meets the needs of all students, supporting the development of Maths, English, and Digital Skills.
  • Provide high-quality careers guidance and prepare students for their career development.
  • Maintain expert vocational knowledge and stay updated with sector-based experience.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven vocational knowledge in Carpentry and Joinery.
  • Experience in designing and delivering training in a college or workplace setting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to deliver outstanding training and assessments.
  • TAQA (301, 302 or 303) or equivalent (or a commitment to work towards in line with contractual requirements).   
  • TAQA (401 and 402) or equivalent (or a commitment to work towards in line with contractual requirements). 
  • GCSE A* - C in English and Maths qualifications (Grades 9 – 4) or equivalent.
  • An appropriate level of qualification in the subject area.
  • Safeguarding, Prevent, Equality and Diversity, GDPR and CEOP training to be completed within one month of appointment.
  • Teaching Qualification, i.e. PTLLS, CTLLS, or equivalent (or a commitment to work towards in line with contractual requirements).
