CSA Package Manager - Externals Data Centre Hertfordshire

Our client is a large and well-established MEP Sub-Contractor operating across the UK, Ireland & Europe. They undertake major Mechanical & Electrical Packages on behalf of Tier:1 main contractors involved in technology schemes including Data Centres, Pharmaceutical, Semi-Conductor plants and heavy industrial projects.

Due to continued growth in the region of their pharmaceutical division, our client is now seeking an experienced CSA Package Manager - Externals to join their team based on a Data Centre build in Hertfordshire.

Responsibilities

Extensive Knowledge of CSA (Civil, Structural, and Architectural) Design and Construction: The CSA Externals Package Manager should have a deep understanding of the civil, structural, and architectural aspects of construction, specifically in the context of data centre facilities. This includes experience in managing external works such as site preparation, drainage, landscaping, external utilities, and boundary walls.

Project Management Experience: Proven experience in managing large-scale construction projects, ideally within the data centre sector. The manager should be skilled in budgeting, scheduling, risk management, and coordinating different teams, ensuring that all external works are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Expertise in Regulatory and Compliance Requirements: The manager should be well-versed in the local regulations, health and safety standards, and building codes that apply to data centre construction. Knowledge of environmental regulations and sustainability practices is also essential for managing external works responsibly.

Strong Communication and Stakeholder Management Skills: Excellent communication skills to liaise with internal teams (engineering, architecture, etc.), contractors, suppliers, and external stakeholders (such as local authorities or clients). This ensures smooth coordination and timely resolution of issues related to external works.

Proficiency in Software Tools for Project Management: Familiarity with construction management software and tools (such as Procore, Aconex, or Primavera) for tracking progress, documenting issues, managing budgets, and scheduling tasks. This helps to ensure that all CSA external activities are properly monitored and documented throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

Degree qualified in Civil or structural Engineering or equivalent

Experience working with civil, structural and External works.

At least 5 years of site management experience
