Environmental Sustainability OfficerThe main purpose of the jobOur lovely client in Waltham Abbey is looking for an experienced Environmental Sustainability Officer.  The successful candidate will assist the company in driving forward their Environmental Sustainability agenda.The Environmental Sustainability Officer will be responsible for ensuring that data is of the highest quality in  terms of accuracy and timeliness, as well as developing systems to foster trust in their environmental sustainability data. The Environmental Sustainability Officer will work with colleagues in the business to understand how relevant data is sourced and applied.The Environmental Sustainability Officer will contribute by identifying opportunities to improve the company's environmental sustainability performance in areas including carbon, energy, waste, travel, procurement, water, refurbishment, compliance, legislation, and biodiversity. The Environmental Sustainability Officer will keep track of the impact of projects that are put in place.The role:Develop, uphold, and advocate for the company's environmental policy, strategies, and other plans, emphasizing compliance with all legislation related to Electrical and Electronic Equipment (EEE) and Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE).Assist in sustaining external accreditations, focusing significantly on:Reviewing documents and conducting internal audits for the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System (EMS).Contributing to the advancement of the ISO 50001 Energy Management System (EnMS).Leading the establishment and upkeep of a comprehensive data collection, monitoring, and reporting system for all environmental sustainability initiatives, with a strong emphasis on EEE and WEEE compliance.Participating in Compliance, ESG meetings, and other departmental meetings critical to environmental sustainability, ensuring a robust alignment with EEE and WEEE regulatory requirements.Collaborating with colleagues across the company to initiate and execute environmental sustainability engagement activities for key stakeholders, with a focus on EEE and WEEE regulations.Maintaining deep expertise in EEE and WEEE regulations.Ensuring current Environmental Waste licenses and Exemptions are up-to-date and compliant with EEE and WEEE legislation.The position will allow the Environmental Sustainability Officer to gain and develop experience across a variety of disciplines, while also making a tangible contribution to the company's net zero carbon target.  Job RequirementsYou will have previous experience of working in sustainability matters, preferably in a professional services environment, and strong data analytics skills. The demonstrated ability to build relationships with a variety of stakeholders and prior experience in an international environment is an asset.The Environmental Sustainability Officer will report to the General Manager.This post sits within the Compliance Department.Fixed-term One year contract.Salary £35,000-£37,000This role is a full-time position, 37.5 hours a weekBusiness hours Monday to Friday 9.00am -5.30pm ONSITEPlease contact me for more details
