HG are recruiting a Transport Clerical for our established Wincanton site based in Waltham Abbey. This site is a very busy Transport Operation who are looking for someone to support the delivery of the Transport KPIs by completing day to day clerical tasks across the Transport Operation, reporting into the Transport Team Manager on duty.

The shift you will be required to work is predominantly days, however, there may be a requirement for nights occasionally. You will be required to do 4 on 4 off 3 12-hour shifts and 1 10-hour shift.

PAYE Pay hourly, paid weekly
£13.71 all hours worked between 06:00 17:59
Additional £1.85 per hour, night allowance for hours worked between 18:00 05:59

Day to day duties

  • Collate and process paperwork received from the warehouse and update the paperwork record keeping spreadsheet
  • Assist with the debriefing of drivers
  • Assist with the legal compliance of the operation, such as ensuring there are no missing kms and that all driver cards are downloaded
  • Answer phone calls from stores and drivers and assist where appropriate or escalate to a Team Manager
  • Assist with administrative duties delegated by the team manager
  • Ensure sundries are in sufficient supply
  • Deal with email queries from internal and external stakeholders
  • Take notes during investigations and disciplinaries

Requirements

  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient with MS Office applications such as Excel and Word
  • Able to work under pressure
  • Be pro-active
  • Good timekeeping
  • Able to multitask and prioritise tasks
