Job Title: Metal Roofing & Cladding Designer
Location: Waltham Abbey
Salary: Up to 55k (depending on experience)
About the Role:
We are currently seeking an experienced Designer to join my clients growing team, specialising in Metal Roofing and Cladding. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled designer with experience in the construction industry to contribute to a variety of exciting projects across the UK. As part of the design team, you will play a key role in ensuring that designs and construction drawings are produced to a high standard and delivered on time, while meeting client specifications and staying within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce high-quality construction drawings and designs in line with project timelines.
- Manage the design process, ensuring client expectations are met and maintained within budget constraints.
- Present design proposals to clients and stakeholders for approval.
- Oversee the development and coordination of design deliverables, reports, and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with building regulations, codes of practice, and ISO9001 standards.
- Stay up to date with changes in building legislation and coordinate building control compliance.
- Coordinate and integrate subcontractor drawings and ensure cohesive overall design.
- Provide technical and design support to various departments throughout project phases.
- Attend and lead design team meetings, liaising with consultants and subcontractors.
- Conduct site surveys and prepare reports on progress, quality, and compliance.
Experience & Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in Hard Metal Roofing and Cladding design is highly desirable.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.
- A background in construction or design-related education (HNC/HND/Degree preferred).
- High-level proficiency in AutoCAD and BIM.
- In-depth knowledge of approved document part B and NHBC conditions.
- Experience working with online document portals (e.g., 4projects, Aconex) is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to build and maintain strong internal and external relationships.
- Membership of a relevant professional body is advantageous but not essential.
