My client is a privately owned architectural practice based near Brentwood, working with national brands within the hospitality, commercial and retail sectors, as well as working some ad hoc residential and refurbishment / alterations.

They are currently seeking an experienced ARB or RIBA accredited Architect to lead projects from inception to completion.

Responsibilities

Meet with professionals and clients at an early stage to agree the project brief

Understand the design aspects of a construction project influence and relate to performance and functional issues, so that practical questions can be addressed at the outset

Evaluate and advise on environmental, legal and regulatory issues Assess what surveys are required before work can commence and ensure such surveys are undertaken and results fed into the project

Develop project briefs and work on these as the project progresses

Prepare and present design proposals using AutoCAD Software Lead the detailed design process and coordinate design information

Communicate with clients on procuring the best and most appropriate contracts for the work they are undertaking

Liaise with appropriate authorities (local planning authority and building inspectors) when producing documentation for statutory approval

Produce, analyse and advise on detailed specifications for suitable materials or processes to be used

Carry out design-stage risk assessments Assist in the administering contracts and project certifications

Obtain feedback from clients and people using the design, and report on the performance of the contractors and consultants

Appraise the performance of designs which are in use and produce maintenance management information

Ability to follow client brand manuals to ensure compliance to design brief Complete weekly invoice sheets to indicate completed works which can be invoiced complete in-house projects

Qualifications required

ARB or RIBA status

Technically Competent

Software: Must be conversant with all packages in Microsoft Office
