Location: Chestnut, Hertfordshire
Contract Type: 3-Month Contract (Temp to Perm for the Right Candidate)
Hours: 40 hours per week
Pay Rate: 18 - 20+ per hour (depending on experience)

Are you a skilled Vacuum Excavator Operator with a strong background in groundwork and civil engineering? We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our leading Tier 1 construction firm, based in Chestnut, Hertfordshire. This role is initially offered on a 3-month contract, with the potential for a permanent position for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

• Vacuum Excavation: Perform excavation works using the Vacuum Excavator across a variety of sectors and customer sites where suction excavation is required.
• Vehicle Responsibility: Take full responsibility for the vehicle and its load, ensuring it is safely unloaded at the intended destination, while adhering to the highest environmental and safety standards.
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations, including the use of PPE and adherence to on-site safety procedures.
• Coordination: Work closely with the site team to coordinate excavation activities, ensuring efficiency and precision in all tasks.

Essential Qualifications:

• CPCS or NPORS for Grab and Vacuum Excavation: Certification is mandatory.
• HGV Class 2 Licence: Required for operating the Vacuum Excavator.
• NRSWA (Signing, Lighting, Guarding): Essential for safe operation within roadways and construction sites.
• Emergency First Aid at Work: Must have up-to-date certification.
• Groundwork and Civils Experience: A minimum of 1 year of experience is essential.

Key Skills:

• IT Literacy: Ability to use digital tools and equipment efficiently.
• Vacuum Excavator Experience: At least 1 year preferred.
• HGV Driving: Proficient in driving and handling an HGV vehicle.
• Tacho Card: Must possess a valid Tacho Card.
• Teamwork and Communication: Strong ability to work within a team and communicate effectively with other workers and supervisors.
