Assistant Quantity Surveyor - Drywall Contractor

We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join an established and reputable drywall contractor. Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the preparation of cost estimates and tender submissions for drywall and plastering projects.
Support the senior quantity surveyors in managing project budgets, ensuring all costs are monitored and controlled.
Conduct site visits to assess project progress and gather the necessary information for cost analysis.
Assist in the preparation and management of contracts, including reviewing terms and conditions.
Monitor project performance and assist in the resolution of any cost-related issues.
Help liaise with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to obtain quotes, negotiate prices, and ensure the delivery of materials and services as per project requirements.
Assist with the preparation of interim valuations, cost reports, and final accounts.
Maintain accurate records of project expenditure, variations, and other key financial information.
Contribute to ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations on-site.

Key Requirements:

A degree or relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field (or working towards one) ideally.
A strong interest in the drywall or construction industry with a desire to develop your skills in quantity surveying.
A good understanding of construction contracts, cost management, and project lifecycle.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel; experience with quantity surveying software is a plus.
A proactive, organised approach to tasks, with an ability to prioritise and manage multiple responsibilities
Ideally, some experience within the construction industry or a related field (although this is not essential for the right candidate).
