Assistant Quantity Surveyor - Drywall Contractor

We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join an established and reputable drywall contractor. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of cost estimates and tender submissions for drywall and plastering projects.
- Support the senior quantity surveyors in managing project budgets, ensuring all costs are monitored and controlled.
- Conduct site visits to assess project progress and gather the necessary information for cost analysis.
- Assist in the preparation and management of contracts, including reviewing terms and conditions.
- Monitor project performance and assist in the resolution of any cost-related issues.
- Help liaise with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to obtain quotes, negotiate prices, and ensure the delivery of materials and services as per project requirements.
- Assist with the preparation of interim valuations, cost reports, and final accounts.
- Maintain accurate records of project expenditure, variations, and other key financial information.
- Contribute to ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations on-site.
Key Requirements:
- A degree or relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field (or working towards one) ideally.
- A strong interest in the drywall or construction industry with a desire to develop your skills in quantity surveying.
- A good understanding of construction contracts, cost management, and project lifecycle.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel; experience with quantity surveying software is a plus.
- A proactive, organised approach to tasks, with an ability to prioritise and manage multiple responsibilities
- Ideally, some experience within the construction industry or a related field (although this is not essential for the right candidate).
