We are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a Tier 1 contractor on a term maintenance project based in Cheshunt, Hertfordshire. This role offers hybrid working, providing flexibility while allowing the Quantity Surveyor to be actively involved in delivering essential infrastructure work.
About the role of Quantity Surveyor:
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will oversee the financial and contractual aspects of a term maintenance project. The role is suited to a Quantity Surveyor with experience in the highways sector and a strong understanding of NEC contracts, particularly NEC4. Any prior surfacing experience will also be highly valued.
Responsibilities for Quantity Surveyor:
- Managing and forecasting project costs and budgets
- Administering NEC contracts (ideally NEC4) and ensuring compliance
- Working collaboratively with the project team to deliver cost-effective outcomes
- Conducting regular site visits to oversee progress and ensure cost control
- Preparing and negotiating final accounts
- Producing financial reports and providing advice to the project team
Requirements for Quantity Surveyor:
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally in the highways sector
- Strong knowledge of NEC contracts, with NEC4 experience preferred
- Surfacing experience is highly valued
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with the team
