Senior Quantity Surveyor – Suffolk Area Wind Farm

With an exciting portfolio of wind farm projects in the Suffolk area, we are looking for a talented and experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our growing team and play a key role in managing the financial aspects of our developments.

Job Role:
As the Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of cost and commercial management across our wind farm projects. You will provide expertise in managing project budgets, contractual negotiations, and ensuring that all financial aspects of the projects are delivered efficiently and within scope.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the cost management for wind farm projects, including cost estimating, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Prepare, review, and negotiate contracts with contractors and suppliers.
  • Monitor and control project costs, ensuring that expenditure remains within budget and financial objectives are met.
  • Manage and report on project cash flow and financial performance.
  • Assess, evaluate, and approve contractor payments and variations.
  • Provide advice on contract disputes and resolve any issues that arise during the project lifecycle.
  • Work closely with the project management team to ensure projects are delivered on time and within financial constraints.
  • Prepare detailed cost reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Significant experience in quantity surveying, ideally within the renewable energy or construction sector (wind farm experience is a plus).
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts, procurement methods, and financial management.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • MRICS or equivalent professional qualification is preferred but not essential.
