Your new companyA leading acoustic engineering company specialising in the design, supply, and installation of noise control hardware. Their projects span across central London, the Home Counties, and throughout the UK, providing bespoke noise control solutions to the construction industry.Your new roleAs an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in supporting the growth of the business. Your responsibilities will include:
- Receiving, reviewing, and assessing tender opportunities and documentation from contractors, consulting engineers, end users, and architects.
- Liaising with and meeting stakeholders to establish project requirements and clarify information.
- Creating and maintaining electronic and paper project files.
- Designing bespoke noise control solutions such as enclosures, attenuators, louvres, and screens (with in-house training provided).
- Issuing detailed enquiries and assessing tender returns from the internal supply chain.
- Formulating cost estimates and allowances, considering project risks, opportunities, and alternative solutions.
- Preparing and submitting written quotations and supporting documentation.
- Following up with stakeholders to gain feedback, develop proposals, and expedite orders.
- Handing over secured projects to the internal contracting team for final detailing, drawing, manufacture, and installation.
What you'll need to succeed
- Approachable and friendly.
- Numerate and literate.
- Conscientious, self-managing, and able to prioritise workload.
- Capable of developing practical and economic technical engineering solutions.
- Familiar with the UK construction industry, including relationships, interfaces, procurement routes, and hierarchy.
- Knowledgeable in mechanical engineering services principles.
- Possessing some knowledge of acoustic engineering and noise control principles (advantageous).
- Dry lining or Engineering experience.
- Holding a degree in Acoustics or a related field.
What you'll get in return
- A competitive salary ranging from £30,000 to £65,000 depending on your experience.
- 28 days of holiday per annum (including bank holidays).
