Reed Education are seeking a talented Assistant Headteacher, who will hold responsibility within a Mainstream Primary School to support the School's specialist COIN centre. This role involves strategic leadership and development under the direction of the Headteacher, ensuring excellent integration with the mainstream school. The successful candidate will provide senior leadership, support strategic development, and inspire, challenge, and motivate others.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Provide overall responsibility for the specialist centre, ensuring its effective integration and operation within the mainstream school.
  • Support the creation and implementation of the school's strategic plan.
  • Line manage all centre staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.
  • Promote effective communication between the centre, mainstream school, staff, leadership team, and governors.
  • Participate in school decision-making processes and influence outcomes positively.
  • Responsible for providing appropriate CPD for centre and mainstream staff, enhancing their ability to support SEND children.
  • Teach one class 50% of the time, serving as an outstanding role model in teaching and learning strategies.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • QTS status and a minimum of 3 years teaching experience.
  • Proven leadership experience within an educational setting, preferably with experience in SEN.
  • Demonstrable experience in leading whole school change and developing the skills of colleagues.
  • Excellent knowledge of and creative approach to the curriculum.
  • Outstanding classroom management and organisational skills.
  • Ability to use ICT creatively to enhance learning.
  • Desirable: SENCO qualification or willingness to complete; experience of leading a specialist centre for children with communication and interaction needs.
