TeacherActive is proud to be working with an Independent Secondary School with their search for a SEND Teaching Assistant. This is an exciting opportunity for you to work with a warm and positive private school, who are focused on child engagement with a specific approach to children with Autism and ADHD traits. The school's specialist care, therapeutic services and curated curriculum helps to provide support for the students with complex learning difficulties. The independent school encourages the students aged 11 - 16 to develop both socially and emotionally in addition to academically. The ideal SEND Teaching Assistant will undertake the schools vision to cultivate a learning environment that embodies their values of collaboration, trust and ambition. You will show a strong commitment and a pro-active attitude towards the students education development and progression as they undergo their broad and balanced education.

The independent school are searching for the right SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team of strong and passionate educators focused on helping the students with their supported learning through personalised teaching and differentiated lessons based on the National Curriculum. The SEND Teaching Assistant must have a strong knowledge or experience of working with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, specifically Autism and ADHD.

The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will have:

  • Experience with SEND students as a Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant
  • Excellent classroom management
  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification, not a necessity
  • DBS on the Update Service
