Do you have a gentle touch and a knack for building rapport? We're looking for a dedicated Autism Teaching Assistant to support a lovely Year 3 student on a 1:1 basis at a mainstream primary school in Wantage (OX12). This role is all about adapting the curriculum to meet the student's unique needs and sparking their interest by incorporating their favorite subjects into learning activities.

The student struggles with communication and needs a compassionate and patient person who can creatively engage them, providing tailored support outside the usual classroom environment. Your ability to adapt lessons and make learning fun will be key in helping them thrive!

What the Wantage school is looking for:

  • Someone who's kind, understanding, and can establish a strong rapport with KS1/KS2 aged children.
  • Experience with autism or SEN (Special Educational Needs) support.
  • A creative approach to adapting the curriculum to suit the student's interests.

Autism Teaching Assistant details:

  • 1:1 support for a Year 3 student.
  • Full time role (Monday - Friday, 08:30am - 3:30pm)
  • Located in a welcoming primary school in Wantage, OX12.
  • The role involves adapting lessons to be fun, engaging, and accessible. This student has a strong interest in trains, so this will be key to interact with the Year 3 pupil.
