Morson Talent is currently working with a leading motorsport/aerospace company to find a skilled Model Maker to join their Aerodynamic team and contribute to the the F1 team's success.

Job Title: Model Maker

Location: Oxfordshire

Hours/Shift: Various shifts available

Rate: Circa £30 per hour umbrella

Contract Length: Initially until the end of the year, with a possible extension looking likely 

Job Description:

As a Model Maker, you will primarily focus on working in the model shop and wind tunnel areas. This role will include fitting detailed components, organising projects, and conducting thorough model inspections. Your expertise will play a crucial part in ensuring the accurate production of composite parts that meet the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure wind tunnel projects are completed to the highest quality and within tight deadlines
  • Assemble large and complex mechanical components for wind tunnel models
  • Tackle technical challenges as they arise and seek assistance when needed
  • Manage workload and meet set targets
  • Collaborate with the design team to enhance the efficiency and quality of wind tunnel models
  • Maintain consistent high standards throughout the production process
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that may arise
  • Assist in other areas of the department as required
  • Prioritise health and safety requirements
Qualifications/Experience:
  • Previous experience in a similar role within the Formula 1 industry
  • Up-to-date knowledge and experience in wind tunnel model part preparation
  • Expertise in wind tunnel models and testing
  • Strong mechanical understanding of current wind tunnel models
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Methodical and thorough approach to work
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and a reliable team player
  • Proficient in IT skills
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to support the department in various tasks
  • Able to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
  • Flexible with working extra hours as needed
