A wonderful opportunity has arisen for a Primary Teaching Assistant - Wantage to join an outstanding primary school in Wantage (OX12) this term. This two-form entry school, praised by Ofsted for its excellence, is looking for a graduate with a passion for education to work in a Key Stage 1 (KS1) classroom. The role is long-term, with an ideal start as soon as possible.

The Head Teacher is eager to meet candidates who bring experience working with children, ideally in school environments. Many students here benefit from additional support, including those with SEND, SEN, SENCO needs, and some experience challenges like ASD, ADHD, or complex home situations. This position offers the chance to make a meaningful impact within a dedicated school community in Oxfordshire.

83 - 90 per day!

Primary Teaching Assistant - Wantage requirements:

  • Enhanced child DBS (Mandatory)
  • Experience working with KS1/ children aged 5 - 11 years old or young people with additional care needs (SEN)
  • Experience with behaviours that are challenging
  • A calm & caring personality
  • A strong and resilient personality and commitment to pupil's development
  • Reading, writing, numeracy and communication skills
  • Team Teach trained (desirable)

Desirable qualifications:

  • Degree 2:2 and higher - Childcare, Education, Psychology, Criminology, Sociology or STEM subjects.
  • HTLA/NQV Level 2/3 Childcare/EYFS experience
  • Team teach trained (preferred)
