SEN Classroom Support - Wantage
A Specialist School located in Wantage are looking for an SEN Teaching Assistant to join them in a long-term position starting ASAP.
- The students in this school struggle with a range of additional needs. These include Autism, ADHD, Down Syndrome and learning difficulties.
- As a SEN Teaching Assistant, your main duties will involve working directly with SEN students in the classroom.
- You will be supported by the class teacher while you provide support to the students either on a 1:1 basis or in a group setting.
- You will also be involved in helping manage behaviour, track student progress and academic success.
- You will be an integral part of helping these students build on and improve their life skills as well as provide emotional and social support.
- Most importantly you will ensure that school is a safe, comforting and fun place.
- The ideal candidate will have some sort of experience working with children or adults who suffer from special educational needs.
- However personality in this case is most important. Someone who is resilient, caring and patient is essential.
