We are thrilled to be recruiting for this established, friendly and industry leading business in Ware who are seeking a conscientious, hard working and organised new employee to join their Customs team.

A heavily administrative role, the successful applicant will be ensuring compliance with customs regulations, combining an efficient and organised administrative background to enjoy this rounded opportunity.

A calming, but confident and logical approach to communicating with people both internally and externally, with proven background in a similar role would certainly be essential - the role has a seriously proactive side, with the forward planning to spot problems and risks before they happen.

Key duties include:

  • Preparing accurate customs documents and declarations for both imports and exports ensuring accuracy and compliance with UK regulations.
  • Assisting with general enquiries from both internal and external customers around customs procedures.
  • Working proactively to spot any potential risks and delays to the customs process, ensuring the impacts of issues are minimised where possible.
  • Keeping up to date on customs laws and procedures and ensuring the business remain compliant with international trade regulations.
  • Identifying opportunities for cost savings within the customs and freight department, whilst ensuring the quality of service remains.
  • Maintaining records for all work completed and inputting data onto an internal customs system.
