Technology Centre Assistant - Temporary - Ware & Broxbourne - 拢13.26 per hour

We are recruiting for a temporary Technology Centre Assistant to work at Hertford Regional College to supporting the full range of services provided; from helping students on computers, loaning out equipment/books to supporting online learning - as part of a wider team that help deliver an outstanding learner experience and be inspirational to students at our state of art facilities in Broxbourne and Ware on a full time bases (Monday to Friday 8.45am to 5pm) on a Temporary Contract basis. There is potential for this role to move from a temporary to Permanent Staff Contract.

About The Role

We are seeking an individual who is passionate about providing a welcoming service at the Technology Centre Helpdesk, building good relationships with Technology Centre users. This will involve helping to resolve Students IT issues as well as supporting them as they work independently on their assignments.

You will be joining a small and tight knit Team with direct supervision and support whenever needed.

Duties include:

路 Provide help and advice to staff and students about using resources, including but not limited to computers and other IT equipment, as well as assisting learners to find information for their research and assignments.

路 Acquire and maintain a good knowledge of information sources and literature of all subject areas relevant to the needs of the students.

路 Develop an in-depth working knowledge of resources in a designated subject area to answer student enquires, to make suggestions for additional resources and to promote their use.

路 Participate in a range of daily routines to ensure the learning environment, resources and equipment are organised and maintained to make the Technology Centre welcoming and accessible to all students and staff. This can also include the provision of displays and publicity material.

路 Undertake other tasks, as directed, to meet the needs of the College, working proactively and taking personal responsibility for retaining and developing competence.

路 Provide basic technical support for Students on Microsoft 365/Windows/Mac and any digital resources they require.

路 Help maintain a collaborative working environment in the Technology Centre.

About You

Successful candidates will display a high level of customer service skills and a real passion for supporting our learners to access the technology centre鈥檚 full suite of resources. You will have the ability to work without direct supervision, but also well within a team. You will have excellent attention to detail and be reliable and flexible. You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and have an organised and methodical approach to tasks. We are looking for a person that will foster an approach of continual service improvement.

You will be working from both Campuses - Ware and Broxbourne - and therefore possessing a driving licence and your own car would be highly advantageous.

You may have worked in a Technology centre before within an education setting - this would be highly advantageous.

You will have achieved a minimum of Grade C in GCSE English.
