We are currently seeking a passionate and committed SEN Teacher to join a Specialist School and sports college supporting students aged 2-10 with severe learning difficulties and other complex mental and physical needs.


Therole:

The role offers the successful candidate to gain support and a personalised CPD to develop leadership skills as well as receiving mentorship from the senior leadership team. You will be supported to meet the threshold of standards and have a key input in the wider curriculum and staff development.


Key responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the long, medium and short term planning of the curriculum and delivery of lessons
  • Management of pupil behaviour in accordance with the schemes of work
  • Mazimise Teaching and Learning through effective management of human resources
  • Monitoring of pupils progress through target setting and writing of individual education plans
  • Assess and report on development for EHCP's
  • Liaise with other professionals: Educational Psychologists, Speech andLanguage Therapists, Advisory Teachers, Medical Professionals etc.


Experience /Qualifications:

  • PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification
  • QTS status is highly desirable
  • Experience within an SEN / SEMH setting is highly desirable
  • Experience of supporting students with complex or SEN needs
