We're working with a leading UK manufacturer based in Wareham to find a skilled Quality Engineer. This is a full-time, permanent role supporting defence and aerospace projects.

You'll play a key part in ensuring product quality, maintaining the QMS, and driving improvements across the business. This role is perfect for someone with a strong quality background in engineering or manufacturing.


Salary: From 45,000 per year
Hours:

  • Monday-Thursday: 8am-5pm
  • Friday: 8am-2pm
  • Full-time, on-site

Requirements: You must be a sole UK passport holder (no dual nationality) and eligible for security clearance. Support will be provided for the vetting process.



Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and improve the Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Inspect products and approve quality sign-off
  • Lead non-conformance and root cause investigations
  • Support First Article Inspections (FAIRs) to AS9102 standards
  • Work with engineering drawings and GD&T
  • Report on quality performance and drive continuous improvement
  • Create and manage inspection documents and plans


What We're Looking For

  • Experience working with AS9100 standards
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T
  • Confident with quality inspections, reporting, and problem-solving
  • Experience with root cause analysis and quality tools
  • Proactive, independent, and team-oriented

Desirable but not essential:

  • Auditor qualification (AS9100)
  • Experience with composites or aerospace
  • CMM, PolyWorks, or laser tracker knowledge
  • Lean, 5S, and continuous improvement background
