Responsibilities:

As a Teaching Assistant (TA), you will:

  • Work alongside teachers to support the delivery of engaging and interactive lessons.
  • Provide individual or small group assistance to students requiring extra support.
  • Help prepare and organise classroom materials and learning resources.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and ensure a safe, inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with additional needs.
  • Participate in school-wide activities, trips, and events as needed.

Requirements:

To excel as a Teaching Assistant (TA), you will need:

  • Prior experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar support role.
  • A genuine desire to work with children and help them succeed academically and personally.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A patient, adaptable, and proactive attitude to overcome challenges.
  • Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning (preferred but not mandatory).
  • A solid understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices.
  • Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Updated Service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
