This is a rewarding role where you will support students with a range of complex needs, including learning difficulties and physical disabilities.

About the Role:
As a Support Worker, you will assist in the delivery of educational and care plans, supporting students both in and outside of the classroom. Your role will include helping with personal care, moving and handling, and providing tailored support to students to ensure their safety, dignity, and independence. You will work closely with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to create a positive learning environment that encourages growth and development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one or group support to students with severe learning difficulties, including assistance with learning activities.
- Support students with personal care needs, including toileting, feeding, and dressing, where required.
- Assist with moving and handling procedures, ensuring that students are moved safely and comfortably.
- Help to create and implement individualized care and educational plans for students.
- Provide emotional and behavioural support to students, promoting their well-being and social development.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists, and other professionals to support the students’ needs.
- Follow all health and safety procedures and safeguarding guidelines to maintain a safe environment for both students and staff.
Key Skills and Experience:
- Experience working with children or adults with severe learning difficulties or disabilities is desirable, but not essential.
- A compassionate and patient approach, with a genuine desire to support and empower pupils with SLD.
- Understanding of personal care and moving and handling procedures (training will be provided).
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently when required.
- A positive, proactive attitude and a flexible approach to your work.
- Experience with or a willingness to learn how to use assistive technology and specialist equipment.
