Operations Technician
Negotiable Salary + Shift Allowance
Location: Wytch Farm, Dorset
Permanent Staff
A leading independent Oil & Gas operator is seeking a dedicated and safety-focused Operations Technician to join their operations team at Wytch Farm. Your primary responsibilities will include safely operating the site, preparing for maintenance activities, and conducting site checks. You will report inconsistencies to the Lead Technician/Operations Site Controller and serve as Performing Authority and Isolating Authority within the permit to work system.
Shift Pattern:
- 7 x 12-hour days, 3 off, 7 x 12-hour nights, 18 off.
- 15 additional contracted shifts annually.
Key Responsibilities: Operations Technician
- Demonstrate exemplary safety behaviours.
- Implement policies and procedures within the Operating Management System.
- Participate in incident investigations and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Complete maintenance and operations routines in Maximo.
- Investigate and address production upsets.
- Supervise contractors and ensure availability of spares.
- Safely return equipment to service with completed GOC work packs.
- Log performance parameters and ensure clear shift handovers.
- Identify and manage environmental hazards.
- Operate and maintain environmental controls.
- Respond to unplanned environmental events.
- Act as a member of the emergency control or fire team.
- Participate in emergency response exercises.
Key Requirements: Operations Technician
- Completed a time-served trade apprenticeship.
- Knowledge of the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical Industry.
- Strong technical background with a minimum of HNC or equivalent.
- Knowledge of SIRP (Safe Isolation & Re-instatement of Plant), PTW (Permit of Work/Safe System of Work), Process Safety, and ORA (Operational Risk Assessment).
