We are excited to offer an exceptional opportunity for an Assistant Headteacher / Special Educational Needs Coordinator (AHT/SENCO) in a School we work very closely with in Caterham. This role is crucial in providing specialist education and support to young people aged 11-16 with additional social, emotional, and communication needs.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Oversee and manage examinations within the centre.
  • Fulfil all SENCO responsibilities, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
  • Lead and support the SEN team effectively.
  • Collaborate with staff, parents, and external agencies to enhance support for student needs and ensure their success.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • QTS is essential.
  • National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) or equivalent.
  • Proven experience working with students with special educational needs.
  • Demonstrable leadership and management skills within a school setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships to support student development.
