The school is based in Caterham and provides a unique, specialist environment that closely fits the needs and challenges that the students face. The school offers a highly specialised curriculum which aims to ensure all pupils can reach their potential aswell as having a hands on, engaging experience.

They are aslo one of very few schools that have a number of animals in the school grounds that the students help to look after; goats, sheep, chickens and alpacas. They also have several staff dogs in school, these help students to manage their anxiety in the classroom and dog walking at break times is offered as a reward for good behaviour. Students have the opportunity to collect fresh eggs every morning, these are sold to staff and the wider school community to raise funds for animal feed.
