Kenneth Brian Associates are recruiting for an enthusiastic Buying Assistant on behalf of a leading company based in Warlingham. We are seeking an individual with excellent customer service skills, the ability to communicate effectively at all levels, and who enjoys engaging in office banter!

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated with a 'can-do' attitude and thrive in a team-oriented environment. While prior experience in the construction industry is desirable, it doesn't need to be specifically within buying—just some basic industry knowledge is a plus.

  • Source and purchase materials, tools, and equipment required for construction projects.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers to secure the best deals.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and new suppliers.
  • Monitor market trends and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Ensure timely delivery of materials to meet project schedules.
  • Collaborate with project managers to understand material requirements and specifications.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and inventory.
  • Assist in budget preparation and cost control measures.

Qualifications:

  • Experience within the construction industry is a must
  • Experience in a buying/purchasing role within the construction industry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in MS Office and procurement software.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
