Reed Education are seeking a talented Higher Level Teaching Assistant to contribute significantly to our dynamic educational environment for a school we are representing based in Caterham. You will support the Class Teacher in all elements of classroom management of children aged 11-19 with communication difficulties typically associated with Asperger’s Syndrome and Autism and teach across a range of classes, both individually and in groups.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities- Pupil Welfare and Safeguarding:
- Take responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils.
- Provide feedback on pupil behaviour, relationships, and attitudes.
- Monitor pupils’ conduct and behaviour, intervening in complex issues and maintaining records as necessary.
- Promote pupils’ cognitive, social, emotional, behavioural, physical development, and spiritual well-being.
- Work with pupils on therapy or care programmes during timetabled sessions.
- Supporting Teaching and Learning:
- Lead in the absence of Class Teachers.
- Assist with the professional duties of teaching as outlined in the Professional Standards for Teachers.
- Plan, prepare, and deliver teaching and learning activities to individuals and groups, modifying activities as necessary.
- Develop and implement individual plans for pupils, including attendance at reviews if requested.
- Higher Level Teaching Assistant Diploma or equivalent Level 4 qualification, or demonstrable equivalent skill level.
- GCSE pass above grade 4 (C) in English and Maths.
