B2C retailer located on the Somerset/Wiltshire border has a hugely exciting opportunity for a Financial Controller to work alongside its CEO and COO. With an ambitious leadership team and exciting plans for further expansion, they are now looking to bring in a commercially astute Financial Controller to build out and lead the finance function.
Role
Reporting directly to the CEO, you’ll have full responsibility for financial management, control, and reporting, while also providing commercial insight to support strategic decision-making. Key responsibilities include:
- Establishing robust financial controls, processes, and reporting frameworks.
- Leading budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management to support growth.
- Preparing monthly management accounts and financial statements.
- Business partnering with senior leadership to provide financial insight on performance and opportunities.
- Managing relationships with banks, auditors, and external stakeholders.
- Developing financial models to support business growth and investment decisions.
- Implementing scalable financial systems to future-proof the business.
About You
This role is ideal for a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. You’ll be:
- ? A hands-on finance professional with experience in a growing business.
- ? Exposure to retail or FMCG would be hugely desirable.
- ? Commercially savvy, able to translate financial data into actionable insight.
- ? Process-driven, with the ability to implement strong financial controls.
- ? A proactive leader, capable of building and developing a high-performing finance function.
