Finance Assistant

Part-time, Permanent - 28 hours per week - Monday to Friday

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and meticulous individual to join their accounts team as a Finance Assistant, on a part-time permanent basis. In this key role, you will manage the Purchase Ledger, working closely with their Management Accountant to ensure a smooth running operation. You will be responsible for matching purchase invoices with purchase orders and processing invoices through our automated system.

The successful candidate will also manage all payment runs, including processing foreign payments and coordinating the purchase of foreign currency, and monitor aged creditor accounts to ensure all supplier accounts are kept up to date.

Responsibilities:

  • Process purchase invoices accurately and efficiently
  • Match purchase orders with delivery notes and invoices
  • Reconcile supplier statements and chase missing invoices
  • Raise and process supplier payment runs
  • Enter supplier and other GL payments
  • Complete workflows to digitalise the Purchase Ledger process
  • Assist with improving Finance and IT Systems
  • Check credit card and expense transactions
  • Maintain supplier details and set up new suppliers
  • Distribute foreign exchange rates and update ERP system
  • Support Management Accountant with month-end processes

Skills and Experience:

  • Previous experience with financial services software
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Professional and approachable
  • Part AAT-qualified is desired but not essential

There is flexibility with the start and finish times for this position as long as they are completed within the main office hours. Office hours are Monday to Thursday from 8:30 AM to 5:15 PM, and Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:15 PM.
