About the Company:A well-established and expanding accountancy practice in Warrington is seeking an experienced Audit Senior to join their audit team. You will be working with a variety of clients, from SMEs to larger corporations, across a wide range of sectors.

The Role:As an Audit Senior, you will be responsible for leading audit assignments from planning through to completion, ensuring a high level of service is provided to clients. You will play a key role in delivering audit services and mentoring junior team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading audits for a portfolio of clients across various industries, ensuring compliance with auditing standards.
  • Planning and managing audit assignments, including risk assessments and audit fieldwork.
  • Preparing detailed audit reports and presenting findings to clients.
  • Reviewing the work of junior staff and providing coaching and support where necessary.
  • Managing client relationships and acting as the main point of contact during the audit process.
  • Ensuring all audit work is completed in a timely and efficient manner, meeting deadlines.
  • Liaising with clients to resolve audit queries and provide sound advice on financial matters.
  • Assisting with the preparation of statutory accounts and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of the audit department and identifying opportunities for new business.

Requirements:

  • ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent).
  • At least 3 years' experience in a similar audit role, ideally within a practice environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of auditing standards and accounting principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong client relationships.
  • Experience managing audit assignments from start to finish.
  • Strong leadership skills and experience mentoring or supervising junior staff.
  • High level of attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work effectively under pressure.
