Our client, a company renowned for quality and innovation in structural frameworks and large-scale steel installations, is seeking an experienced Cost Controller to manage the financial costing aspects of their key steel-focused projects. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a proven track record in the steel industry, exceptional analytical skills, and expertise in cost control and contract management.



Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure cost variances are reported promptly and accurately, implementing corrective actions where necessary.
  • Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly costs to ensure budgets are adhered to and reporting is accurate.
  • Prepare and submit interim valuations monthly to maintain positive project cash flow.
  • Oversee interim valuations, applications for payment, and negotiate project final accounts.
  • Produce internal cost/value reports when required
  • Evaluate hours allocated during the tender process against actual hours worked in fabrication.
  • Conduct steel take-offs, measuring and qualifying materials from drawings and specifications.
  • Raise and issue sub-contract orders where applicable (e.g., decking).
  • Enter budgets and costings into the company's software systems.
  • Manage and record contracts, bonds, retentions, and collateral warranty documentation.
  • Attend client pre-construction and start meetings, as required.
  • Work collaboratively with various departments to ensure proper cost allocation and control.
