Management Accountant (12-15 Month Fixed Term Contract)Location: WarringtonSalary: up to £55,000Working Pattern: Hybrid (3 days in the office, 2 days from home)Contract Duration: 12-15 Months We are currently seeking a Management Accountant to join a dynamic finance team on a 12-15 month fixed-term contract. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accountant to manage a small team while supporting the Head of Finance. This role offers flexibility with hybrid working and a welcoming, collaborative team environment. Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Management: Oversee and support a small team of finance professionals, ensuring effective workload distribution, team development, and performance management.
  • Management Accounting: Produce accurate and timely management accounts for the business, providing insightful analysis and commentary to senior management.
  • Consolidations: Take lead responsibility for group consolidations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and delivering consolidated financial reports on time.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, working closely with departmental heads to ensure alignment with strategic goals.
  • Variance Analysis: Perform detailed variance analysis, highlighting key issues, trends, and opportunities to improve financial performance.
  • Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, supporting the Head of Finance with ad hoc reports as required.
  • Internal Controls: Ensure robust internal controls are in place and adhered to, mitigating financial risks within the department.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including senior management and operational teams, to drive financial understanding and business decision-making.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements within the finance function to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Management Accountant, ideally with a background in consolidations.
  • Qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent.
  • Strong experience in financial analysis and management reporting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage a team effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with Sage.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
