This is a fantastic opportunity for a part-qualified accountancy candidate to propel their career forward. My client are looking for an Operational Accountant on a permanent basis. You will be joining an extremely well-established team. This is a fast-paced finance function - my client needs somebody able to run with this kind of workload. In return they offer a hybrid working pattern and brilliant working environment.

Key duties of this role will include:

  • Review weekly/monthly profit & loss statements providing detailed business commentary including variance analysis.
  • Undertake nominal ledger tasks including processing of journals, nominal ledger cross-charges and period end reconciliations.
  • Provide detailed analysis to operations of key business performance drivers and internal reporting trend analysis.
  • Prepare Balance Sheet Summary with supporting reconciliations, identifying financial risk/opportunity.
  • Take responsibility for the preparation of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts.
  • Monitor Aged Debt & Un-invoiced revenue ensuring they align with Business accepted levels.
  • Liaise with external auditors as part of the audit process ensuring provision of information is supplied in a timely manner.
  • Continuously improve customer and company reporting processes and procedures.

Person Profile:

  • Ideally part-ACCA/CIMA qualified - otherwise fully AAT as a minimum.
  • Good oral and written communication skills which are effective and persuasive.
  • Creative thinker with robust influencing skills.
  • Ability to effectively plan and prioritise work ensuring all reasonable deadlines are met.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office with Strong Excel skills.
  • Practical experience of financial analysis and reporting.
  • Detailed and up-to-date knowledge of good financial practice.
  • Experience of Finance Business Partnering.
