Our client is a leading telecommunications business based in Warrington, renowned for its innovative solutions and exceptional customer service.

Description

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Accounts Payable and Receivable Management:

    • Processing invoices for both suppliers and customers, ensuring accuracy and timely payments.

    • Reviewing and reconciling accounts payable and receivable records, addressing any discrepancies in a proactive manner.

    • Managing the collection of outstanding payments and assisting with any credit control functions as required.

  2. Financial Reporting Support:

    • Assisting with the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements.

    • Preparing and posting journals for accruals, prepayments, and other routine financial transactions.

    • Helping the finance team to compile key reports for management and ensuring that they are delivered on time.

  3. Bank Reconciliations:

    • Performing daily and monthly bank reconciliations to ensure all transactions are accurately recorded and any discrepancies are investigated.

    • Coordinating with other departments to ensure that payments are aligned with financial records.

  4. Expense Processing and Reporting:

    • Reviewing and processing employee expense claims, ensuring they comply with company policy

  5. Support for Month-End and Year-End Closing:

    • Assisting in month-end and year-end closing processes, including posting transactions, reviewing balances, and preparing supporting documentation.

    • Ensuring that all financial records are up-to-date and complete for audit purposes.

  6. VAT and Tax Compliance:

    • Assisting with VAT returns, ensuring that all transactions are correctly classified and compliant with tax regulations.

Profile

The successful candidate
  • Previous experience in an accounting role (ideally 1-2 years)

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and processes

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
