A major UK housebuilder are on the lookout for a Design Engineer (Civil Engineer) to join the business and work as part of their team from their Cheshire office near Warrington.


Calibre Search is delighted to be working with a prestigious national housebuilder that is seeking an experienced Design Engineer to join their established technical team. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to major residential developments, working on innovative design solutions that enhance communities and deliver outstanding homes.



Role & Responsibilities:


  • Prepare and manage engineering designs for residential developments, ensuring compliance with technical standards and regulations.

  • Oversee and coordinate external consultants and internal teams to ensure smooth project delivery.

  • Liaise with local authorities, utility providers, and other stakeholders to obtain approvals and ensure infrastructure requirements are met.

  • Provide engineering input into land appraisals and feasibility studies.

  • Support the development of sustainable and cost-effective engineering solutions.

  • Work collaboratively with the wider technical, planning, and construction teams.


Key Requirements:


  • A degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.

  • Experience working within a housebuilding, consultancy, or engineering contractor environment - ideally at least 3+ years in a hands-on design capacity

  • Strong knowledge of infrastructure, drainage, highways, and utilities for residential developments.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, PDS, MicroDrainage, or similar design software.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
