The Opportunity
To operate and maintain process plant to deliver against plan within safety and environmental, volume, quality and cost goals. Main Plant Operators’ focus of operation and primary responsibility is operation of the Main Plant dry end process and Bulk Bag packing. This will include the Drier, mills, pack line, blow eggs and bulk bag filling station plus tanker loading and unloading operations.
Your duties and responsibilities will be
- Ensure optimum operation of several complex processes so that plant OEE targets are met.
- Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance procedures, isolations and first line breakdown maintenance so that plant downtime is minimised.
- Responsible for maintaining a safe operation that complies with safety, environmental and Company quality standards, including auditing, implementation of corrective actions, reporting and housekeeping.
- Provide ‘in process’ analytical function to ensure product produced is always to the right quality and standard.
- Provide problem solving and diagnostic expertise to ensure issues are resolved and plant operation continued.
- Record accurately all process information such that it can be used to ensure process operation is maintained within set limits, including the use of SPC charts.
- Training others in tasks they perform regularly within their job role.
- Participate in Improvement Activities, individually and as part of a team and perform formal shift handovers as required.
You will have the following qualifications & experience
- City & Guilds plant operations part I & II (or equivalent).
- Process Operations NVQ Level 3.
- Chemical process plant shift work experience.
The setting for the role
Risks and Hazards are in line with working on a chemical and manufacturing site. These can include, chemical burns, trips and falls, overexertion, cuts and scrapes, chemical exposure, inhalation of chemicals, confined spaces, heavy machinery and equipment, electrical hazards, machine guarding, sudden or loud noises, moving vehicles and working at height. A full site induction will be provided and all safety requirements must be adhered to when entering the site.
