Fantastic Traffic / Logistics Controller opportunity in the Warrington area with a leading delivery business. This is a great time to join this well-established, successful and highly professional transport organisation offering a range of bespoke services. This role is the direct result of their ongoing growth and will be pivotal to the success of the operation, ensuring collections and deliveries are made on time.

Applicants need to have a driving licence and their own vehicle as there is no public transport available near the site and this is a full-time office-based job.

Key Responsibilities of the Traffic / Logistics Controller role:
* You will assess the most appropriate type of vehicle required for a delivery - from a small van to an articulated HGV.
*Identify the best providers who can deliver as promised on time and in full and while optimising costs, you will negotiate rates and service levels with them.
* Constantly monitor the progress of the delivery, supporting the drivers on the road and responding to evolving situations to ensure deliveries are made on time.

Key Skills / Experience required for the Traffic / Logistics Controller role:
* Experience within the road freight industry along with a strong understanding of vehicle types, geography and current legislation regarding loads.
* Comfortable negotiating rates, timings and locations with drivers.
* Great attention to detail and fantastic problem-solving skills with the ability to prevent/resolve issues that could result in the disruption of service level agreements.
* Strong communication skills across numerous channels.
*Work well under pressure and thrive in a fast-paced environment with ever changing priorities.
