Pre-Development Engineer

• A role as Pre-Development Engineer with one the UK's leading private housebuilders, looking to improve the engineering from an earlier stage of development
• Excellent pipeline - Exiting a challenging housing market, your new company have 500+ units planned for delivery each year for the next 3 years, and 14 sites in various stages of development (over 8,000 potential homes)
• Crucial impact - as a Pre-Development Engineer, you will be working closely with the land and commercial teams, ensuring that the long term engineering strategy and design of new sites starts off on the right foot
• Not a PLC housebuilder - as a non-PLC, private housebuilder with a less substantial design team, you have more scope to get hands on with drawings, design, project management, management of external consultants and technical approvals
• Super competitive package - Salary up to £65,000, 10% annual bonus, £6,800 car allowance, 1 day per week WFH, early finish Friday, regular social events, 24 days annual leave increasing by 1 per year to 28, pension scheme, employee discounts and perks

What will you be involved with?

• The candidate will ideally have experience of being a design engineer competent in using design software, such as AutoCAD, Civil3D, PDS, MicroDrainage, Causeway etc
• Review technical information and pull together technical reports to enable comprehensive bids
• Produce constraints plans to enable site layouts to be effectively designed
• Produce initial drainage strategy in consultation with external consultants
• Manage external consultants across design stages from bid, planning to site working drawings
• Start process of submitting information for S38, S104, S278 works for technical approvals
• Review roads and sewers and external works designs to value engineer with a focus on buildability and best value
