Murphy is recruiting for a Senior Project Manager to work with Murphy Technical Services on cabling projects
Murphy Technical Services (MTS) is growing and sits within the multidisciplined Specialist Businesses Unit of Murphy. This includes building, ground engineering, electrical services, utility connections, design and engineering, alongside the specialisms of the wider business.
A day in the life of a Murphy Senior Project Manager
- To be fully accountable for the delivery of the project, ensuring it is completed safely, on time, in accordance with the contract requirements and to budget
- Sets the overall standard on the project/contract
- Ensure the project requirements are identified and delivered
- Identify issues and ensure they are resolved in a controlled and timely manner
- To ensure contract programmes are planned, reviewed, and delivered.
- Liaises with the Project Managers to ensure that the construction resource pool is an appropriate size, with an appropriate blend of skill sets for the projected workload
- Line management of Site Managers, Assistant Site Managers and Section Managers.
- Responsible for effective client relationship management, collaborative approach and providing updates to internal and external stakeholders on project/contract progress.
- Ensure risk assessments are created, in place and reviewed as and when required.
- Ensures operating plans are in place to ensure sufficient resources and materials are in place.
- Responsible for all commercial activities associated with the project including the delivery of the gross margin, management of cost control and other key commercial and financial metrics.
- Overall performance management of subcontractors of the gross margin, management of cost control and other key commercial and financial metrics.
Stil interested, does this sound like you?
- Experience in HV cable installation, jointing and commissioning within 11kV to 400k
- Experience of working on complex multi-discipline Enhancement projects, delivering within programme and cost controls
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, able to develop close working relationships with clients and subcontractors.
- Expertise in the use and interpretation of project controls to review the status of a project
- A true leader with passion for people development, can do attitude and a flare for innovation
