Finance Assistant/Credit Controller - £25-28K + Bens – Warrington/Hybrid

We are a SaaS technology business, with massive growth plans and investment.  We have an exciting new opportunity for a Finance Assistant/Credit Controller.

The role will be based out of our Warrington offices, with Monday, Tuesday and Thursday as set finance office days, with the other two days working from home.

Finance Assistant/Credit Controller – Responsibilities

- Assist with managing the shared inboxes used by the finance team (PO requests, Credit checks)

- Raise and issue invoices electronically to clients, accurately and in a timely manner

- Maintain the sales ledger, ensuring client accounts are up to date

- Deal with clients invoicing queries and liaise with sales team to resolve

- Issue approved credit notes and action monthly reconciliation of bank receipts

- Ensuring clients pay on time and to agreed terms, chasing any debt via email/phone

- Send weekly debtors summary report to Finance Manager, highlighting any issues

- Issue weekly statements to customers and handle reconciliation queries

- Resolving invoice and customer account queries both internally and externally

- Negotiate payment plans as and when appropriate (subject to manager approval)

- Update customer ledgers with credit control notes

- Initiate legal proceedings once this stage has been approved to recover outstanding debt

- Assist customers that pay by card and reconcile card payments to Sage weekly

- Ensure VAT exemption process is followed, and VAT exemption files are saved for relevant clients

Finance Assistant/Credit Controller – Required Skills

- Passionate, tenacious, level-headed and process driven

- Enthusiastic and confident with a ‘can-do’ approach

- Hardworking with a flexible approach, and excellent attention to detail

- Ability to effectively communicate both written and verbal with internal and external stakeholder

- Confident using MS Office, Sage or similar accountancy software

- Excel proficiency, including formulas, pivot tables and VLOOKUP
