A Finance Manager position has been newly created to support the expansion and development of the wider organisation. In this role you will be responsible for managing a small team whilst actively involved in strategic decision making whilst developing efficient and effective financial procedures.

Being a new position this role is ideal for someone who is keen to put their own stamp on things and implement new policies and accounting procedures for best practice.

Description

Duties and tasks:

  • Lead and manage a small team
  • Produce detailed finance information and management reports to Head of Finance and CEO
  • Identify and implement improvements and efficiency in finance and services
  • Produce management accounts pack for Trustees and Governors and discuss budgets or the organisations activity and provide variance analysis and commentary
  • Identify strategic financial plans and develop future forecasts
  • Assist in audits and statutory accounts preparation
  • Assist in developing costing models and fee structures
  • Ensuring all incoming and outgoing payments are being adhered to and implement new controls to manage the organisations cashflow
  • Keeping on top of transactional accounts invoices and bank reconciliations etc
  • Ad hoc work - assist in proposals, bids and tenders

Profile

To be successful in the role you will:

  • Experience in producing budgets and forecasting
  • Excellent communicator and the ability to work with no financial members
  • Able to identify trends and the implement new controls and procedures
  • Full understanding of debits and credits to monitor payments and cashflow
  • Qualification - not essential
  • Education sector experience - desirable
  • System Sage 50 - desirable
