About the Role:

The post holder will play a crucial role in an ongoing system and data migration programme. You will collaborate with cross functional teams to assess, plan, and execute the migration of data. You will be a data specialist who excels at understanding and managing large volume of data and have strong data wrangling experience using SQL across a variety of complex systems, datasets, and schema.

You will review and understand the structure of the source and target systems, execute the data migration plans including extraction, transformation and loading (ETL) processes and work with all involved teams to ensure high data accuracy, quality and availability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyse existing data sources, structures, and formats
  • Extracts (or work with the extraction team by articulating clear data requirements), transform data (by using Python/SQL), test (and work with the testing function) and load data (or work with the load team.
  • Facilitate and work with all business SMEs to ensure high data quality, accuracy, and availability throughout the migration process.
  • Use best coding practices to generate reproducible work.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation related to migration or data wrangling processes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve migration challenges related to data.
  • Effective monitoring, reporting and communication throughout the data migration activities.
  • Promote business insight-driven culture across RS IS functions.

Key Skills:

  • Strong SQL skills for extraction and manipulation.
  • Power Query, VBA, Python would be desirable.
  • Accustomed to data automation and understanding of machine learning pipelines and approaches.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to collect, organise, analyse and disseminate significant amounts of information.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving mindset.
  • Strong team player with effective communication and change agent.
