The Client

Our client is a leading commercial glazing, curtain walling, cladding and façade specialist and they are looking to add a Document Controller to their team. The Role of Document Controller

  • To effectively manage the document control for construction projects including in house design.
  • Manage and issue project documents to site teams weekly
  • Administer and manage Deltek PIM for projects
  • Understand client and project document control requirements across all projects and sustain compliance with those requirements  
  • Manage and issue project documents and drawings to site teams weekly and at the outset of project
  • Aid project delivery team with production of O & M manuals
  • Monitor and report on Material schedules and manufacture documents issued to factory, review progress and target dates and report to the team.
  • Help raise the profile of Document Control on the project and across the wider business
  • Set up elements and administer the inhouse project information tool for sites and design team
  • Proactively assist project members and other users with regards to document control services
  • Co-ordinate with Project Coordinators and Assistant Project Managers to ensure documents are reviewed on time
  • Input and manage incoming documents on data management system
  • Download and archive comments received via data management systems
  • Maintain data management system ensuring accurate records of the project documents
  • Produce monthly reports/statements on document control status
  • Update and maintain drawing rooms
  • RFI Management
  • Site packs on project start and updates daily with latest drawings/schedules

 

Desired Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience of working with a data base and supporting a construction related team
  • Experienced in online portal systems such as 4P, Aconex, A-Site or other document management systems
  • Advanced experience of a common data environment (CDE / electronic document management system (EDMS
  • Experience of working on projects with large volumes of data and information from various sources
  • Excellent document preparation and formatting skills
  • Ability to prioritise work, multitask and troubleshoot
  • Interest in project delivery processes, project administration and the wider industry.
