Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a year 10 pupil with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in Warrington. This is a full-time position in a supportive and inclusive educational setting.

Responsibilities
  • Provide tailored support to the assigned pupil, addressing their individual learning needs and SEMH challenges
  • Assist the pupil with their academic work, ensuring they are able to fully engage and participate in learning activities
  • Help the pupil develop coping strategies and emotional regulation techniques
  • Collaborate with the teaching staff and SENCO to create and implement individualized support plans
  • Maintain regular communication with parents and caregivers, providing updates on the pupil's progress and well-being
Qualifications
  • Previous experience working with students with SEMH needs
  • Understanding of effective and inclusive teaching techniques
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to remain calm and patient in challenging situations
  • Relevant qualifications in education or special educational needs would be an advantage
Day-to-day

As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the pupil, providing them with the necessary support and encouragement to thrive in their educational journey. Your days will be spent engaging in one-on-one teaching sessions, implementing strategies to address SEMH challenges, and maintaining open communication with the school team and the pupil's support network. Your role will be instrumental in creating a positive and nurturing learning environment for the pupil.
